Terms of Service
By using Circle Ledger, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully. They are written plainly — not in legal language intended to confuse.
What Circle Ledger is
Circle Ledger is a record-keeping tool for njangis, tontines, welfare associations, and other contribution groups. We help groups track payments, contributions, manage rotation records, and expenses.
We are not a bank, payment processor, or financial institution. We do not hold, transfer, or guarantee any funds. All money movements happen outside our platform.
Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your login credentials. You must provide accurate information when creating your account. One account per person — you may not share access with others.
Group records and transparency
By using Circle Ledger as part of a group, you understand that the financial records you create — payments submitted, approvals made, fund disbursements logged — are visible to all members of that group. This shared visibility is the core function of the service and cannot be disabled.
Acceptable use
You may not use Circle Ledger to record fraudulent transactions, to misrepresent amounts received or paid, to impersonate other members, or for any illegal purpose. Groups found to be using the platform to facilitate fraud will have their access terminated without refund.
Subscriptions and billing
Subscriptions are billed monthly per group. The group admin is responsible for payment. You may cancel at any time and your access continues until the end of the current billing period. We do not offer prorated refunds for unused time.
Founding member pricing, where applicable, is locked for the lifetime of the group's subscription. This commitment holds as long as the subscription remains active without lapsing.
Data and continuity
We commit to a minimum of 12 months of continued operation from the date of first service activation. If we ever decide to shut down, we will give all active groups at least 90 days notice and ensure you can export your full group history before closure.
Limitation of liability
Circle Ledger is a software tool. We are not responsible for disputes between group members, for funds that go missing outside our platform, or for decisions made based on records stored in our system. We provide the record. How the group acts on that record is the group's responsibility.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. Significant changes will be notified in advance.
